Summer 2020 - Renaissance Fencing Club offers fun Summer Camps for boys and girls ages 7 – 14
Renaissance Fencing Club is the strongest youth fencing club in our region and has multiple nationally ranked fencers. Our introductory fencing camps will teach the basics of the Olympic sport of fencing which engages both mind and body. Fencing is physically and mentally demanding and teaches problem solving along with improving reflexes and agility. Fencing is unique – a certain body type is not required – fencing encourages different styles based on size and strength. Fencing requires respect; fencers salute at the end of the match regardless of outcome, win or lose. RFC provides an open fun environment for kids to learn fencing. Participants will learn footwork, play fencing related games, learn the basics of blade work and technique. Mini fencing competition on the last day – parents are welcome to attend!
Our camps are half day from 9am – 12 noon for boys and girls ages 7 - 14. We try to group fencers with others in their age group so please let us know if your camp week(s) are flexible.
There will be the possibility for an advanced camp the week of August 17 – 21 if we have interested campers.
Fencers should wear sports clothing and sneakers – please bring long sports pants and a face covering every day for protection!!! No crocs or sandals or jeans – all clothing should be flexible.
Covid Pandemic Safety Requirements:
All campers must wash with soap and water or hand sanitizer on the way in and out - please bring hand sanitizer and wipes with you
