Summer 2021 - Renaissance Fencing Club offers fun Summer Camps for kids ages 7 – 12, and a Teen Camp too!
Our introductory fencing camps teach the basics of the Olympic sport of fencing. Fencing engages both mind and body and teaches problem solving while improving reflexes and agility. Fencing does not require a specific body type - fencers develop different styles based on their individual size and strength. Fencing requires respect; fencers salute at the end of the match regardless of outcome, win or lose. RFC provides an open fun environment for kids to learn fencing. Participants will learn footwork, play fencing related games, learn the basics of blade work and technique. Mini fencing competition on the last day – parents are welcome to attend!
Camps are half day from 9am – 12 noon for boys and girls ages 7 - 12. We try to group fencers with others in their age group so please let us know if your camp week(s) are flexible.
We're also hosting a teen summer camp from August 9 to 13. This camp is for boys and girls ages 12-17. It's a great way for beginning students to refresh their fencing skills during the summer to be ready for fall competitions.
NEW: We've added one more session August 23-27, right before the Labor Day weekend! This camp is for 8 to 12 year olds.
Fencers must wear sports clothing and sneakers – please bring long sports pants and a face covering every day for protection!!! No crocs or sandals or jeans – all clothing should be flexible.
Covid Pandemic Safety Requirements:
All campers must wash with soap and water or hand sanitizer on the way in and out
Campers must wear a double layer tight fitting face covering with no valves or vents that covers the nose and mouth at all times
We limit the number of adults in our waiting area – they must also wash in and out and wear a face covering. There will be limited seating available to meet social distancing requirements
All surfaces will be wiped down before campers arrive
